This
course introduces participants to the darkroom
and making B&W enlargements from their negatives.
The workshop begins on Friday evening with an
orientation session that explains darkroom procedures,
safety in the lab, as well as the chemicals, equipment
and supplies necessary for making B&W prints.
Friday evening session
is generally 2-3 hours in length. (approximately
6:00 - 9:00 p.m.)
On
Saturday, the participants
work with the instructor and assistant to create
their own B&W prints in the lab. This workshop
has individual & group activities with a lunch
break on Saturday. Morning
session: 9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., afternoon
session: 1:30 - 4:30 p.m.
All
material and equipment are furnished, including
several sheets chosen from a variety of RC enlarging
papers. Participants must bring their own B&W
negatives to enlarge into prints. NO
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE NEEDED.
Sessions are held at our Mamie Street location,
or at a suitable location for out-of-town workshops.

A darkroom or lab with 2-3 enlarger stations is
absolutely necessary for this class. Class is
limited to 5-6 people per session.

Fee: $175 per person at the Hattiesburg, MS location,
Deposit: $50.
Workshop
fee on location: $200 per person, Deposit: $75
(includes non-refundable registration fee), plus
travel expenses for the instructor(s).
All
fees must be paid in full at least two weeks in
advance for on location workshops.
